Over noisy with wedding party and staff banging doors late at night.

On arriving at hotel I did ask if we could upgrade to a room with a seaview but was told all these rooms were accommodating the Wedding Party on the Saturday night and they were over the noise of this celebration. HOWEVER on the Saturday night when we went to bed we discovered that we were directly over the disco which went on until 3.00 in the morning. We complained at 12.30 and were told this would stop at 2 a.m. Noise was turned down slightly but was completely unacceptable loud music and voice of DJ vibrating - every word clearly heard. Complained to Manager next morning when we were checking out. He said he would have to contact his superior. 30 euros was deducted from our food bill and we were given a bottle of wine as we left. Felt this was not enough and told the Manager who apologised profusely and said it was not their policy to put private guests into rooms over the function room. Completely their mistake. We are waiting to hear further from them.

Unfortunately our room was above the wedding and loud music continued until 3am on one night.

The hotel location was superb - overlooking the water but unfortunately our room overlooked an inside courtyard (4 walls). The fire alarms went off 3 times during a two day stay. They served moldy bread toast at breakfast - which they apologized for after it was pointed out. Although the view was beautiful, this was our least favorite hotel.

Hotel was very nice but the rooms were average compared to the actual hotel and bar. There was a Wedding at the hotel both nights and unfortunately our room was right above the reception hall and needless to say the music was extremely loud all night.
"I just wanted to let you know our Ireland trip was fabulous!! Thank you so much! Your recommendation to Adare Manor was a top tip! I went to Ashford Castle as well, it was very very nice to, but my preference is still Adare Manor. I just wish that I had booked 2 nights there instead of just one. The B&Bs were TOP too! Especially the one in Kilkieren up in Galway. Barbara was lovely and couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable. The Hillside House is definately one you can recommend to anyone!" -- Silke
