The
fairytale Ballyhannon Castle was built in the 15th century as a Peel Tower
House and overlooks the majestic Shannon river. Today, Ballyhannon castle is a
beautiful residence, ideal for exclusive family holidays, honeymoons, special
events, birthday parties, weddings or simply as a wonderful getaway location.
The Castle can sleep 9 guests, and another 9 at the Coach House which is
adjacent.
Painstakingly
restored, Ballyhannon Castle marries a traditional atmosphere with a cosy
charm, not lacking in modern comforts. The interior is stylishly furnished with
antiques and features a splendid living room with inglenook fireplace and
minstrel's gallery. A spiral stone staircase winds through the five floors from
the fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor.
The adjacent Coach House is a magnificently restored
early 19th Century building, with wooden beam ceilings and internal stone walls
adding to its old world charm.
"Sorry this is so late but I just wanted to say Thank you so much for planning such a wonderful trip! We enjoyed every aspect of it. I just wanted to let you know that the tax on the Bed & Breakfast's was a Dublin tax." -- Audrey
