site. It aint much but every little does helps and we want to do our
bit. If you are not familur with Barretstown and the great work they do
here’s a little blurp from their site;
“Barretstown aims to rebuild the lives of children affected by serious illness, and their families, through a life changing Therapeutic Recreation programme in a safe, fun and supportive environment. At Barretstown, a fairytale castle in the beautiful foothills of Ireland's Wicklow Mountains, the focus is on 'Serious Fun'.
Here is a specially-designed camp for children with serious illnesses, and their families, that provides a programme of adventure, activities and fun – backed by the medical world - which helps children with serious illness regain their confidence and self-esteem.
Children come here from Ireland, Britain and throughout Europe, diagnosed with a wide range of illnesses - primarily cancer and serious blood diseases - to take part in the life-changing programme.
Excellent, unobtrusive medical supervision helps them forget illness, while our programme works to undo some of the emotional damage caused by serious illness.
This will help them develop an outlook that is both positive and sustainable, a sense of strength, courage and confidence that lasts well beyond their stay at Barretstown.”
