Why not be the Captain in your own vacation?

An experience report – the self-trial

On the rivers and lakes of Ireland you can rent more than 500 cabin-cruisers and enjoy your vacation with a lot of nature. You can cast the fishing rod or enjoy a bath in the fresh but not so cold lake. In the evening you can dock on a lonely island or on one of the many bases in small towns from where you can go for a typical Irish pub. Ireland has not only water around itself, it is also pervade with rivers and canals. Even if you never navigated a boat you can discover Ireland through the waterway as a holiday captain. Most popular are the rivers Shannon, Erne and River Barrow, which are connected to each other and have a proud distance of 800 km – and the are not used commercially only for fun.

myguideIreland reverse US Dollar declines

At myguideIreland, we always pride ourselves on putting our Guests first and are always looking for ways to offer better value without compromising the service we deliver. As you are well aware, the dollar has recently hit record lows against the Euro and many of our Guests and potential Guests have expressed their concern.

Behind the scenes, over the last few months, our Finance Director has been applying great foresight in currency management so we are now in a position to provide our vacation products at a great value exchange rate. Resisiting the temptation to profit from this currency hedging, we are now offering an exchange rate of just $1.35 per Euro to any US Guest booking a vacation to Ireland. This “turns back the clock” to February of this year before the recent sharp declines in the Dollar’s value.
