Camden Court

Located in the southside of Dublin, The Camden Court Hotel hotel is just a short and pleasant walk from St Stephens Green, Grafton Street, the focus of Dublin's premier shopping district and historic Trinity College. The Liffey's riverside quarter "Temple Bar" is also close by.

The yellow brick exterior harmoniously continues the streetscape while its principal entrance off Camden Court is a vaulted passageway reminiscent of the carriage entrances of days gone by. Guests arriving by car have access to an underground car park.

The Camden Court Hotel is a stylish 6 storey, 246 bedroomed hotel. The crisply decorated bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms continue the theme of care and comfort at the Camden Court. Each room is equipped with a direct dial telephone and an outlet for a computer. A fax machine is supplied on request. The spacious reception area decorated in rich shades of rose, gold and blue, sets the tone of warm hospitality and classic service, which are the hallmark of this hotel. From the morning's continental style buffet or famous "full Irish breakfast", to the popular lunch time carvery, to the elegant gourmet dinners composed by a master chef, dining at the Camden Court is one of the highlights of any stay.

Guests at the Camden Court have complimentary access to the hotel's health and leisure club. Relish the exotic surroundings, the rich tiling in warm colours. With a magnificent 16 metre pool, state of the art gymnasium, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, our leisure club is the perfect haven to unwind and recharge both body and soul.

Helpful staff assist guests with a smile and a porter will bring the bags to the room. There's a convenient Bureau de Change at the reception desk and the hotel's shop in the lobby is stocked with an assortment of small necessities, newspapers and magazines.

The hotel was fine. I work in hotels so I'm perfectly used to having a fantastic lobby with somewhat subpar rooms. The rooms was perfectly adequate, we were mostly out in the city anyway, but it could definitely have used more art work in the room as there was none. Also surprising, they did not have a concierge but the Krystian (that name spelling is off but his name definitely started with a "K" and he pronuounced it "Christian") at the front desk did an exceptional job at getting us out and about. Also being in New York, I can have fussy guests especially when it comes to Wifi. The WiFi was not free and we had to pay to print our boarding passes. I understand this isn't the end of the world but for the caliber of hotel I would have thought that one of the above items would have been complementary.

No airconditioning. Food in bar was not great.

Not big on urban environments. Did bus tour which was good. Only ate breakfast at hotel whcih was OK. Biggest issue with wives was no face clothes in bathrooms. Only place we had to pay to use the internet. Would probably consider other hotels in future.

Excellent - after we got stranded, Camden Court worked with us and reduced the standard rate for our extra stay.

The lobby and bar looked very nice but when you got to the room it was old and run down. I was not pleased with the room at all. The walls were paper thin and you could hear people in the rooms next to you as well as the people on the streets. The pool required everyone to wear a swim cap for hygiene so we had to buy them. i would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very accomodating. The location was such that we were able to walk to all of the sites we wanted to see. The hotel employee's were very personable and helpful.

The hotel was very accommodating when we arrived at 6:00 a.m. They gave us our room even though check-in time was not until 2:00 p.m.

Nice accommodations in a good faciity. We were able to walk to all the attractions we wanted to see. Used the gym and jacuzzi/sauna and they were really good facilities for a hotel.

Problems with lifts not working

Ken Hann on Fri Oct 10 2008

Our room was very big, with 3 double beds. It was very plain, with a small table, the room needed some updating.

Nice hotel and great breakfast. Easy walking distance to Dublin centre, good location. The rooms were noisy, right above the Bleeding Horse pub and we were kept up at night with drunks yelling and swearing to each other while spilling out of the pub below. Traffic was noisy too so we didn't get much sleep that first or second night, especially after flying all the way from Canada via Heathrow.

the room we had for one night was just above the area where the stff take their smoke break and was very noisy, especially first thing in the morning with trade vans and staff chatter. Also the room had very few electrical socket which were handy.

Bryan Mcconnell on Sat Sep 20 2008

Hotel was well placed for the city centre and we would go there again.

William Douglas on Wed Jul 30 2008

I would try to book hotels closer to the river/Temple Bar area.

Griffin Americas on Wed Jul 16 2008

the rooms were spartan, but the rest of the hotel was quite nice.

Kim Plourde on Tue Jul 15 2008

Right in DUblin...loved that. Breakfast...so-so. One of the rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. Staff - very helpful!

Paulette Fitzgerald on Tue Jul 15 2008

A bit of a walk from the center of things but a very nice accomadation.

Bonnie Bieber on Wed Jun 4 2008

I mentioned in the B & B section that the Camden Court suited our needs in Dublin. We leave for sightseeing the first thing in the morning and come back in the evening, so the hotel was a place to sleep. The breakfast was excellent. A place a little closer to the City Centre would have been preferred, but the walk was not unwelcome.

This is where we started. It was nice and staff very nice. Very noisey but due to St.Patrick's Day celebrants and forgetting they were in a hotel and not a place to party in the hallways.

Margaret Covert on Fri Apr 11 2008

They were under construction. They did not give me correct directions and seemed un interested in a single person. I sat in the waiting space for some time after I had checked in I had to ask if they had a room for me.

Jeanne Brown on Fri Mar 28 2008

Room service was very poor. Breakfasts were good. Personnel at reception friendly but need training.

Maria Virginia De Klerk on Tue Feb 5 2008

I am not sure about Value for money as it was pre paid as a package. The staff at the reception were really friendly and helpful.

Very Nice

Good choice. The staff was less than accomodating. (front desk) We liked the hotel with the accomadations, food and location. It appears the front desk staff needs a little courtesy training. No smiles/no greetings/-requested money exchange-they did so with a sour attitude.

Pat Finley on Tue Nov 28 2006

Nice hotel. Convenient for exploring the south side of Dublin.

Michael Clinton on Sat Nov 5 2005

They first gave us a room with 2 single beds, then they upgraded us to a room with 1 single and 1 double bed. It was very hot and we had to open the window, so it was very loud - we heard every car & truck that drove by and also the drunks at night. The hallways wreaked with cigarette smoke - they need to put their smokers on different floors than the non-smokers.

Robert Neville on Thu Aug 11 2005

The hotel was further from the center of town than I expected. I was able to walk to city center, but it was not as convenient as I expected.
