Cedar Lodge

Cedar Lodge is a friendly hotel and restaurant situated just outside New Ross, on the main Waterford to Wexford road, 32km from Rosslare ferry port.

An intimate family run establishment, the Cedar Lodge has established a good reputation for its warm hospitality and fine cuisine. On entering the hotel its name becomes immediately apparent as its wooden interior is set with very much a mountain lodge atmosphere.

The Cedar Lodge has a collection of very spacious bedrooms, tastefully decorated and luxuriously comfortable, which come equipped with all the usual facilities and beautifully appointed bathrooms.

The Cedar Lodge Restaurant is noted for its freshly prepared local produce and comes well recommended. Centred around a roaring log fire, with a menu that focuses on fresh locally caught oysters, mussels, lobster and crab, Slaney wild salmon and local lamb, all complimented by an impressive wine list.

The Cedar Lodge is located close to a number of interesting historic places such as the towns of Wexford, and Enniscourty, the Kennedy Homestead and Dunbrody Famine Ship as well as places of peaceful beauty like the JFK Memorial Park, with opportunities for golfing, horse riding and walking nearby.

Guest Reviews of

excellent food, we stayed too short too properly judge its location and exterior

Ewoud Tan on Sun Mar 27 2011

compaired with the other hotels this was very poor, food expensive 49.5 euros only had two courses but tried to charge for full cost. Being the last hotel to stop at was regretable as it left a poor impression

Enjoyed the dinner did not get the breakfast because we had to leave quite early I felt that the restaurant could have provided a packed breakfast as we had paid for it

Lovely hotel, very accommodating host. We had to leave before breakfast but when we mentioned this a continental tray was laid up for us and left in our room for the early morning. Very good food in hotel.

no bar food available at hotel or near by and restaurant at hotel was very expensive at 49 euro,s per person

Chris Pritchard on Tue Nov 6 2007

The men at the reception desk were not very friendly; especially after they learned we would not be dining in the restaurant for dinner (we could not afford it and had to find a less expensive restaurant in New Ross). However, Ciara, who served breakfast (food was excellent) was excellent--very friendly and helpful.

Very well run, clean and tidy hotel. The dinner was a very high standard and prepared and presented with care.

Half of the rooms face the very noisy highway. How did we end up with 2 rooms on the noisy side of the hotel? Ah yes... we're tourists from America and won't be back!

Great food. Excellent location to spend several days in the area and see the many sights available.

"Sorry this is so late but I just wanted to say Thank you so much for planning such a wonderful trip! We enjoyed every aspect of it. I just wanted to let you know that the tax on the Bed & Breakfast's was a Dublin tax." -- Audrey
