 Clare Island Beach, located in Mayo
Located off the coast of Mayo in the west of Ireland, Clare Island has an excellent sandy, rural beach. Visitors can visit the island by crossing the ferry from Roonagh Pier is approx. 6 miles form Louisburgh and 18 miles form Westport. Beach guards are not on duty during the bathing season but lifebuoys are provided on the beach. Bicycles can be rented near the beach and there is a hotel and public house within walking distance. The island has a small population of approx. 250. The beach is located very near the pier. All boats arriving to the island must berth at this pier.
