Clew Bay Hotel

The Clew Bay Hotel offers a warm welcome the moment you set foot inside the door. Newly refurbished, it retains all the character and ambience of a family run hotel.

The popular Maddens Bar with its stained glass and contempary theme features music in an elegant setting.

The Riverside Restaurant, on the tranquil banks of the Carrowbeg River offers a bright airy setting for a relaxing meal, or enjoy Maddens Bistro for a casual dining experience.

Centrally located for exploring the historic 18th century market town of Westport , Achill Island and Connemara, the Clew Bay Hotel is also ideally situated for fishing, hiking and golf , or just lazing on one of the isolated golden beaches of County Mayo .

Guests can enjoy full access to Westport Leisure park, located next-door, compliments of the Clew Bay Hotel. Westport Cineplex is also located adjacent to the hotel.

Guest Reviews of Clew Bay Hotel

great location..room very small, but nice, the staff were mixed..some very helpful, some not..a pretty good place.

The information sent with the hotel led one to believe that the welcome at this hotel would be better than standard, however it proved in our experience worse than standard.Overall the Clwe Bay hotel was the worst hotel experience on our visit. We could not open the windows in our room. and for a cold September evening the resturant was not heated.

This was our least favorite hotel. We had a 2 night reservation. Put in the old section for first night which said non-smoking. Room large but old and outdated. Second night we got to our room and there was heavy cigarette smoke in the air. In fact this was the smoking section. Smoke got so bad we had to move rooms. Second room was small but newer. Service in restaurant fair (had to ask twice for coffee). Nice staff but not very knowledgable about service.

It just made it a long day with the ferry being cancelled. With not receiving the message before we set off on our journey, but we enjoyed the three days anyway.

Very fun and funny staff, got our laundry done and delivered from across the street.

Excellent food, drinks, and entertainment. Better for an older crowd (which we were). Walking distance from the whole town. Manager very helpful and friendly

Trotz Stadtzentrumslage ruhige Zimmer. Als positiv empfanden wir, dass man als Hotelgast bei der Gebühr für den öffentlichen Parkplatz einen Sonderbonus hatte.

Faciltiies grade would be higher except that some of the facilities are off site, and therefore slightly more of a hassle to avail of. Some issues with wallpaper and carpet wear and tear. Expected with a 3 star though

Very good taste in the furniture and very nice bar and restaurant.

On the side of the street, centrally located in Westport. The outside is not representative of the quality and comfort found inside. Good bar and restaurant, room done to a very high standard. Ajacent to swimming pool (free) and cinema (half price) for guests. Very friendly staff and owners.

town centre situated and within walking distance of the cinema and leisure facilities. deceivingly big. expect a counrty style house but is modern and sophisticated. good size rooms with a calming feel. golf not too far a distance. art exhibitions held monthly in their very own art gallery. hour from galway, hour from sligo so not trapped in the town.

The clew bay situated in the centre of wesport is a family run business, The rooms were all very spacious and decorated with bright colours, Although the noise level from the streets could be heard from inside the rooms with the windows closed. The hotel had no leisure centre however it is within a 5 min walking distance and is free to residents also the cinema is near by where when a guest buys a ticket they get one free, the bar a wine bar theme to it, there was also a art gallery in the lobby exhibiting local artist.
