| Hunting in Limerick is
from the first weekend in November to the middle of February.
The County Limerick
Foxhounds reside in Clonshire and they hunt Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays and
meets are usually at 11am.
Arrive to the Dunravan Arms Hotel on the Sunday evening and ride in
Clonshire on the Monday and Tuesday getting used to the way of going of
the Irish sport horse and practicing out on our cross country course
to perfect your "hunt seat" then it's out with the Limerick County
Foxhounds on the Wednesday. Thursday is left for relaxing and a visit
to the kennels is suggested. Friday you are back in the saddle in
Clonshire working on any points you feel you need to before going back
out on the hunting field on the Saturday.
The following would be
a suggested schedule:
Monday and Tuesday
riding in Clonshire and getting used to the Irish Sport Horse and perfecting
your “hunt Seat”.
Wednesday hunt with
the county Limerick Foxhounds
Thursday take it easy
and loosen out those muscles, take a visit to the Kennels to meet the hounds
and the hunt staff.
Friday back in the
saddle and work on any problems you may have encountered while out hunting.
Saturday back out with
the County Limerick Foxhounds.
Should you wish to
hunt on the Friday with a different pack, the staff at the Dunraven arms hotel
can arrange that for you.
Enjoy a days hunting
The cost of a days
hunting is €520 and this covers your visitors fee and horse hire. Horses are from a reputable yard and are
delivered to the meet tacked up, plaited and ready to go. They are collected again when the day is
over leaving you free.
