Day 1: After arriving at Shannon Airport and picking up your
car you have the opportunity of visiting some of Ireland's beat known visitor
attractions. The Burren in Clare, a place of rugged beauty, is a unique
phenomenon of nature where tropical flora grow far from where they are naturally
found. The reasons why they are able to thrive here are still not completely
understood, but the interpretive centre does a great job in informing the
visitor.
The Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare are a symbol of Ireland and are some
of the most impressive sea cliffs in the world.
The little towns such as
Lisdoonvarna, Ballyvaughan and Doolin have all the facilities and hospitality
that a visitor expects of Ireland
Day 2: You
travel northwards along the west coast through Galway City, a place rich with
music, art and culture. Galway Bay, immortalised in song, its beauty unchanging.
Scenic Gaeltacht areas including the Aran Islands. Connemara, with the
picturesque town of Clifden as its capital. Mountains, castles and stone walls,
banks of turf, long sandy beaches, clear lakes, joyful leaping streams and
flowing rivers
Day 3:Mayo is a county with an astonishing variety of
scenery, an unspoilt natural environment and innumerable places of interest.
Here, people have lived in harmony with their surroundings for over 5,000 years.
The county has charming picturesque towns and tiny atlantic fishing villages,
bustling market towns and the Marian Shrine at Knock. Wesport is a busy tourist
town and is the location of your hotel for tonight.
Day 4:Sligo is
the county synonymous with the poet W.B. Yeats. The majestic plateau mountain of
Benbulben dominates the landscape. It may surprise you, but Sligo and Strandhill
in particular has some of the best surfing conditions in the world. Donegal is
Ireland's most northwesterly county and has some of the most scenic coastlines
in the country. The Slieve League Cliffs are the highest in Europe while
Glenveagh National Park is abundant with wildlife.
Day 5 & 6: From
your hotel in Donegal you will make your way across the north of Ireland to
Belfast. The Antrim countryside is a series of lush green Glens and the county
is known for the Giants Causway, a prehistoric rock formation of hexagonal
shapes, and well worth a visit. County Down is a great place for those
interested in hillwalking and watersports.
Day 7: Making your way
south you will stop in County Cavan, a place popular with fishermen because of
it's many lakes. Your hotel is a beautiful 4* Castle located in
Kingscourt.
"It has been a pleasure working with you and your company. I really appreciate your professionalism, tourism expertise, and your patience and willingness in helping me enjoy a great vacation. Rest assured, when I visit Ireland again (and I will), you will be the first person I call. I will also refer you to people I know who may travel the same path." -- Mak
