Cork Capital of Culture 2005

Two years ago, Cork City received one of Europe's highest accolades as it is designated European Capital of Culture.

Recognising Cork's cultural excellence, Capital of Culture will see host of events highlighting the city's cultural heritage, throughout Ireland , Europe and the World.

Every month, every week, every day of 2005, Cork's venues, stadia, museums, galleries even its parks and streets will be presenting the work of important Irish artists, writers and musicians as well as the work of leading international companies and individuals, with an extensive programme of events and festivals from the worlds of visual arts, performing arts, film, food, literature, music and much more.
