From the mirrored walls to the simple
handcrafted tables and chairs, Damian's restaurant speaks of local artistry and
community spirit in the small village of Falcarragh. A cozy but spacious hub of
activity, the restaurant offers generous helpings of food and fun. Owner Damian
Maquire-head chef and chief conversationalist-dishes up mounds of chips and cod
on heaping plates to satisfy the heartiest of appetites.
Bright yellow curtains billow as the cool
sea breeze flows in and fills the space with a calm assurance that at Damian's
everyone is welcomed with a friendly smile...and a jab or two at last night's
escapades. Most striking, though, is the breath-taking view right outside the
front door-of the magical, mystical Tory Island where Irish language, customs,
and legendary traditions (those of the Gaeltacht) still flourish.
In keeping with tradition, Damian's serves
a full Irish breakfast (eggs, baked tomatoes, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, and
homemade brown bread) every day, all day and boasts a variety of sandwich
specials, soups, salads, and main courses: Fried cod, grilled salmon, fried
haddock, baked chicken and vegetarian lasagne. At Damian's, the house specialty
is simply good food...and good fun.
