Dunraven Arms

Set in the picturesque village of Adare in County Limerick, the Dunraven Arms Hotel combines the ambiance of an 18th Century coaching inn with the facilities of a stylish modern hotel.

Established in 1792 as a coaching inn for the colourful market village of Adare, the Dunraven Arms is one of the region's premier hotels and has entertained dignitaries from Princess Grace to Presidents of Ireland. Inside, remnants of old-world charm stand alongside neat modernly spruced features, with secluded fire lit lounges, a fine restaurant and state of the art leisure facilities.

Each of the well appointed bedrooms are individually laid out, attractively furnished and graced with a soothing modern country house style decor. Beds are lavishly sized, some are luxurious four-poster suites, some have fabulous half tester beds, with stylish marble bathrooms and all the usual facilities the discerning traveller would expect.

The Maigue Restaurant at the hotel has won prestigious awards for its fine dining in sumptuous surroundings and fabulous classic Irish cuisine with a contemporary twist. And with dishes such as braised lamb shank on a herb mash and a cassoulet of beans or whole quail with a date and apple stuffing on black pudding, shallots and lardoons of bacon, its easy to see why they restaurant has won such plaudits. The hotel also serves food in the famous Hunter's Bar, a contemporary styled piano bar.

The Dunraven Arms has a leisure centre equipped with a 17m swimming pool, steam room and fully equipped gym and offers an extensive range of beauty treatments and massage therapies.

Adare is renowned for its equestrian activities, outdoor pursuits and country sports. The hotel is also well placed for golfers with the Robert Trent Jones designed course at Adare and the renowned championship courses of Ballybunion, Lahinch, Killarney and Tralee not too far away.

We loved the town of Adare and would have enjoyed another day in the area. The Dunraven Arms was a lovely hotel and provided wonderful, spacious, deluxe accomodations. We never had the opportunity to enjoy all the facilitiles that were available, but they certainly looked appealing. Since there were so many local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, we chose to dine outside the hotel.

Lovely country hotel in Adare heritage town. Modern spacious well decorated rooms. Newer junior suites more luxurious. Nice bar and dining room.

The interior is a bit old. The swimming pool is a good advantage. Perhaps more for the french guest (not so expensive)

manor house decor. rooms spacious and bright compared to the darker settings in the public areas. plain decor in rooms. small bathrooms but because dressing rooms have been added on it creates a bigger feel to them. luch was not too good. the staff were not 100% confident with what they were doing and at times were unsure of their answers

The lunch was a bit disappointing. Although the rooms were spacious and welcoming the staff were not they either had very poor english or new very little about the hotel and the local area

Testimonials

"I just wanted to let you know our Ireland trip was fabulous!!
Thank you so much!
Your recommendation to Adare Manor was a top tip!
I went to Ashford Castle as well, it was very very nice to, but my preference is still Adare Manor.
I just wish that I had booked 2 nights there instead of just one.
The B&Bs were TOP too! Especially the one in Kilkieren up in Galway. Barbara was lovely and couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable.
The Hillside House is definately one you can recommend to anyone!" -- Silke
