Why did you join myguideIreland?
I really enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures and traditions.
One of the best places to visit is Ireland so I decided to share what I
know about my home with others who wish to visit Ireland.
What is your favourite part of Ireland?
I love it all especially along the coast, The Cliffs of Moher are a must
see, however I also love west cork as I come from this area it has some of the most beautiful coast line you'll find anywhere in Ireland.
What is your favourite visitor attraction?
I love Bantry House and Gardens, I also enjoy the heritage centres found all over Ireland.
What is your favourite Irish food restaurant in Ireland?
I love Dainty's Bar in Union Hall West Cork, they serve a great steak and some of the best locally sourced seafood. You'll never come away hungry and it's a great place for a pint or two.
Which is your favourite pub in Ireland?
So many it's hard to choose, in West Cork I do like the Paragon, which is my local here in Skibbereen, Sean og's is also good for some music.
Cork City has some great bars with live music including the Lobby Bar and Reardon's.
Where do you like to shop?
I love to shop in Cork City it's a small city compared to Dublin but you
find all the high street shops there in close proximity, for special gifts
then you have to take a spin to Kinsale which has some very good gift
stores.
Favourite getaway in Ireland?
If it's a really quite weekend away from all the hassles of the week then Waterford Castle it has to be, located on its own private Island!!
Given your experience what advice would you give to people coming to Ireland?
When coming to Ireland you'll always be amazed, each place you visit is completely different form the last place you were at. Make sure you pack a rain mac and definitely don't forget the camera. Take your time relax have fun and you'll find yourself easing into the Irish pace of life and won't want to leave.
