A lake of considerable size and stretching some thirty five miles, Lough Corrib is famous for its excellent fishing is thriving with salmon, pike and wild brown trout and is recognised as the leading brown trout fishery in the world.
In this same area and only a short drive away (approximately 15 minutes) is Lough Mask, which is just north of Lough Corrib and the upper of the 2 lakes that empty into the Corrib River. Another spectacular wild brown trout lake, Lough Mask feeds to Lough Corrib via an underground stream.
There is also a selection of rivers in this area including the Clare and Robe rivers that both offer some excellent salmon or evening dry fly fishing.
The Connemara area is very popular for fresh water angling, and guides who know the area particular well and are excellent fishermen themselves are available.
