Grand Canal Hotel

A contemporary styled hotel, the Grand Canal is situated in the business district of Dublin a few minutes walk from the city's, restaurant, bars and attractions.

Located on the leafy banks of Dublin's Grand Canal, close to the affluent Ballsbridge area, the hotel is a ten-minute stroll from the heart of Dublin. The Grand Canal Hotel is contemporary styled from the modern furnishings of the spacious lobby area to the attractive bedrooms.

Each of the bedrooms at the Grand Canal Hotel are spaciously appointed and furnished to high standards with a very modern cosmopolitan feel and come equipped with all the essential facilities for the modern traveller. Executive rooms also come with balconies offering great views of the city.

The facilities at the Grand Canal Hotel include Ulysses Restaurant offering relaxed dining and a collection of international dishes. Attached to the hotel is Kitty O'Shea's pub, something of a local institution, offering traditional Irish fare, a fine pint of Guinness and as the locals would say, 'great craic'.

The Grand Canal Hotel offers good value and is excellent for exploring the shops, bars and cultural attractions of Dublin, with Grafton Street, Trinity College, Temple Bar and Lansdown Road all within two miles of the hotel.

The front desk personnel were very helpful. We had no problem finding cabs to bring us into the city and the temple bar area. For a city hotel this was good.

It would have been helpful if the staff at the hotel knew more about the activities for tourists. They were fine otherwise. The waitstaff at breakfast was very good and pleasant. I chose to drop off the luggage at the hotel prior to dropping off the car. I managed to get lost in Dublin and was late droppping off the car at the airport but my agent called them. Its too bad I couldn't drop it off closer to the hotel.

The staff was very accommodating Good thing for us) as our reservations weren't made. Gave us quite a "panic time" while waiting for rooms.

Very difficult to find - we needed a better map on our arrival into the city - Dublin is a nightmare to negotiate if you don't know it.

Great walking distance to City Centre as well as dinner next door at the Schoolhouse was very good

Lots of construction in the area made it difficult to find and maneuver around the area.

This hotel was very accomodating. They served us breakfast in the lobby because we had an early flight. Also gave us a free movie because our cable was broken.

Basic hotel, good location and within comfortable walking distance of city centre. Lacking in atmosphere, rooms very standard. Good value for money

15mins walk into city. residents parking. spacious restaurant. warm colours used. noisy reception- constant business meetings taking place. hotel is situated in resedential area so it is quiet. same decor and facilities in all rooms. mainly used as tours and groups hotel.

From entering the hotel there was a coopertae feel about it with business meetings being held in the lobby, though the rooms were spaacious the decor was off putting red walls!! The location was adapt that one could walk into town from here.

Testimonials

"I just wanted to let you know our Ireland trip was fabulous!!
Thank you so much!
Your recommendation to Adare Manor was a top tip!
I went to Ashford Castle as well, it was very very nice to, but my preference is still Adare Manor.
I just wish that I had booked 2 nights there instead of just one.
The B&Bs were TOP too! Especially the one in Kilkieren up in Galway. Barbara was lovely and couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable.
The Hillside House is definately one you can recommend to anyone!" -- Silke
