A lovely half-day-tour into
the Wicklow Mountains to visit Ireland's most famous village, Avoca, otherwise
known as "Ballykissangel" situated in the wonderful Vale of Avoca and
also the magnificent Glendalough with 11.35am
departure.
Tour Details
Check in Dublin Connolly station for 11.35am
departure of train to Arklow. We go south along the coast enjoying
the magnificent seascapes for much of the way as far as Wicklow town,
where we can see the mountains and experience the "Garden of
Ireland " (as county Wicklow is known) at its best.
On arrival at Arklow we join our coach for a journey through the Vale
of Avoca, taking in the lovely village of Avoca, or Ballykissangel,
where we can visit the well known Avoca hand weavers. We spend time for a pint in Fitzgeralds Bar and continue on to visit
the ancient monastic settlement at stunning Glendalough. We return by
train to Dublin Connolly station at about 6.30pm.
