Harrington Hall

Less than five minutes walk from Dublin's main streets, Harrington Hall provides a sumptuous link between the Georgian splendour of old and the cosmopolitan needs of today's capital city.

Harrington Hall is located amongst the elegant Georgian arched doorways along the side streets adjacent to St Stephen's Green, in the centre of Dublin. While the famous streets and boulevards of Grafton St and O'Connell Street, together with the colourful nightlife of Temple Bar and many of Dublin's theatres, museums and galleries, are all within 10 minutes walk. Over the years Harrington Hall has built up a good reputation for its high standards of service and hospitality.

Harrington Hall was once home to a former Mayor of Dublin of the 19th Century, Timothy Charles Harrington and retains a sense of relaxed, stately elegance. From the classic pillared entrance Harrington Hall echoes of understated Georgian charm, with sympathetically designed public areas and lounge fitted with period furnishings, which complement original restored ceilings.

Each of the bedrooms at Harrington Hall are individually designed in line with the original architecture of the building and are tastefully furnished in keeping with the property's Georgian theme, while being equipped with all the standard facilities of a modern hotel.

Harrington Hall serves a comprehensive breakfast menu in the basement dining room and its helpful and knowledgeable reception staff are on hand to recommend the best dining options in Dublin for the evening. Harrington Hall's facilities also include secure parking within the grounds.

See what some of our Guests had to say about this Hotel

Warm and efficient welcome enjoyed our stay, ideal for visiting Dublin.

Mrs Pamela Briggs on Wed Jun 11 2008

Our room was right across from a pub --- the night life kept us up most of the night. The room was very nice. We found the food to be better in the small towns.

Marianne Dewes on Mon May 19 2008

There was a loud party across the street from Harrington Hall until 4:30 am. They said they had sound proof windows but it was too warm in the room to shut the windows.

Patricia Maloney on Mon May 12 2008

This was the 2nd stay in the hotel. The hospitality is always very good.

Mr Takefumi Matsukura on Mon May 12 2008

Wonderful! The staff was very helpful, and the location couldn't be better.

Amanda Santo on Mon Jan 7 2008

Harcourt St is difficult to find. Directions from many lead us on a 2 1/2 hour drive trying to find it. Who changed the traffic pattern around St Steven's Green? He or she should be shot!

William Coyne on Mon Oct 1 2007

The hotel was great. The bad thing was trying to get to it. It took almost an hour and a half for us to figure out how to get to it. Driving in Dublin is no fun. Streets change name at each block. Even Boston isn't that bad. They did give me a free beer while waiting for our room.

Steven Venegoni on Wed Sep 26 2007

Accommodation Facilities were excellent. The issue of Central to Dublin City presented a problem. We would have preferred and will request a more central hotel for future visits.

John Kabot on Tue Sep 18 2007

There was safe parking which is important. Location to city is excellent.

Dan Buckley on Mon Aug 20 2007

Enjoyed stay, staff helpful, had good English! Breakfast very good. Parking valuable to have.

Marie Buckley on Mon Aug 20 2007

The rooms facing the street are exceptionally noisy. The streets in this area wake up at 10pm and do not die down till about 4am. There are soundproofing windows, however, it was so muggy (no air conditioning) in the room that it was not possible to entirely close the windows to soundproof it.

Milagros Santiago on Fri Aug 3 2007

Definate yes in my book. Again, they were nice, helpful and very accomadating to us, considering - we were all over the place. They were perfect.

Diane Greenfield on Tue Jun 26 2007

More like a dorm room instead of a hotel.

Barry Savage on Wed Jun 6 2007

Had an excellent experience at Harrington Hall. Unfortunately they did NOT have brown bread in the AM. On our last day, my wife ordered scrambled eggs and her order was misplaced. However, the matter was corrected in a reasonable time.

Bob Allen on Mon May 21 2007

Rooms facing the rear face a serious noise problem in summer. With no AC, windows must remain open in hopes of a breeze, but there is a late-night club several doors down that offers outdoor drinking until 2 am, and the noise is intense.

Jim Cameron on Tue Aug 15 2006

I can recommend that hotel to younger people, because the hotel is located in the center of Dublin, and it can be very loud at the weekends there.

Amela Cardaklija on Thu Mar 16 2006

A bit disapointed with this hotel. The location is good but it was very cold in the hotel and in the rooms

Carole Razet on Thu Mar 16 2006

2 Georgian houses joined together, excellent Dublin city centre hotel. All the rooms are different in size and decore lots of up and down stairs but there is an elevator. Old world feeling.

Joan O'Connell on Tue Nov 29 2005

not too far from the city centre so it is away from the mad city rush. georgian town house- not typical hotel features. country style breakfast room. spacious rooms with country feel to them. wireless internet. free parking. rooms fit in with the style of the building.

Jenna Burton on Tue Nov 29 2005

More of a guest house than a hotel, good location for exploring dublin. all rooms were different so you could be very lucky or then again not so lucky, The dinning room was very small and unimpressive

Elma Connelly on Tue Nov 29 2005

Enjoyed our stay. They have a great staff who are very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.

Aaron Warriner on Thu Nov 10 2005

We felt Harrington Hall over all was just okay. The location was convient but the parking was not. The morning we had to leave to catch our flight, it was inconvienced because we were blocked in the parking lot and cars had to be moved at 5 in the morning to get us out.

Erin Daniels on Mon Oct 17 2005

We enjoyed Dublin but would not stay there for more than a day next time. We enjoyed more of the open land and smaller towns. This hotel was located on a less busy street which was nice and a little way from the center of town. It was still within walking distance which was very nice and the hotel was beautiful.

Amy Yayac on Thu Sep 1 2005

Room was a little noisy, right by the sidewalk. Other than that, very pleasant

Susie Bohnert on Mon Aug 15 2005

The staff here was wonderful! They were so helpful with directions and suggestions.

Al Youngdahl on Fri Aug 5 2005

Very nice. Location was very convenient for sight seeing in Dublin.

Christy Knopf on Thu Aug 4 2005

Harrington Hall was great. All of the staff that I met was very helpful from the moment I arrived until the moment I departed. They enhanced my trip to Dublin. Plus, the character of the building made me feel not only that I was staying in Dublin but that I was living within the history of Dublin. I loved the room, particularly the marble-tiled bathroom, and I very much appreciated the art works on the walls in the lounge and throughout Harrington Hall. Breakfasts were excellent. A great place!

Christopher Mahon on Fri Jul 29 2005

Staff was wonderful, helpful, and extraordinarily nice people. Lovely rooms.

Edna Mcnamara on Tue Jul 26 2005

Dublin was very difficult to drive in. Perhaps in our case it would have been better to have a hotel closer to the airport because we were leaving the next morning. Apparently the hotel is close to a night club, you could hear loud talking, sining& hollering until about 5:30 am (no sleeping).

Royce Ashley on Tue Jul 26 2005

Very nice. Convenient location.

Elizabeth Kading on Sat Jul 16 2005

The breakfasts weren't great but everything else was and I would certainly recommend it.

Gary Forsyth on Tue Jul 12 2005

Very nice, again, expensive atmosphere, kind of stuffy.

Bill Berry on Wed Jun 29 2005

Getting to Harrington Hall was the hardest task that we had throughtout our vacation. I wish there was some way to visit Dublin without having to drive into the maze!

Deborah Cook on Sun Jun 26 2005

there was a party across the street and the noise level throughout the entire night was very loud so we got very little sleep-not the hotels fault

Rick Russo on Thu Jun 23 2005

Very difficult to figure out the parking as there are no signs on the street. Also the street in front of Harrington's is one way and has the new electric rail service so it makes things doubly confusing. Maybe a note in the brochure for the hotel telling people how and where to park would be helpful. We also found the staff not helpful.

Ed Ratliff on Sun Jun 19 2005

The staff was excellent! They took care of anything that I needed help with, from booking tours and calling cabs to showing me how to get the hot water turned on in the shower. I know that all of this is expected of them as part of their job, but it was always done in a willing and friendly way. They are to be commended. I found this location a bit out of the way in that it was quite a walk to the Tourist bureau; also there was no good place to eat very near the hotel.

Patricia Murphy on Thu Jun 16 2005

I highly recommend Harrington Hall to travellers who want to a nice but not overly luxurious hotel that is well situated for walking around Dublin. I think it was a great value for the money, and we found the clerks extremely helpful.

Julie Beglin on Mon Jun 13 2005

We found Harrington Hall to be an excellent location and excellent accommodations. The staff was friendly, rooms and bathrooms quite nice, and everyone very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!
