The beach is a sand spit jutting into the sea between Dingle Harbour and Castlemaine Harbour, where Ryan's Daughter was famously filmed. An extensive sandy beach in a rural environment, the whole area is rich in habitats of flora and fauna and is a natural heritage area and SAC.

I went to Ashford Castle as well, it was very very nice to, but my preference is still Adare Manor. I just wish that I had booked 2 nights there instead of just one. The B&Bs were TOP too!
