Day 1
Overnight flight from North America to Ireland.
Day 2 Dublin
Arrive in Dublin, Ireland’s largest city and capital City. Meet your myguideIreland Representative* and transfer to your hotel to drop bags. Take a short tour of the city of Dublin through Dublin’s elegant Georgian streets and squares. Stops at Trinity College in the city centre to view one of Ireland’s greatest treasures, the Book of Kells. Following Trinity, travel to Guinness Brewhouse for a tour of this famous Dublin landmark. Enjoy a free pint of Guinness at the end of Tour. Transfer back to hotel for dinner and overnight. After dinner enjoy Dublin City and sample variety of entertainment available (independent)- Theatre, pubs, clubs,
Day 3 Dublin
Breakfast at hotel. Coach drive to Glendalough, Co Wicklow, known as the Garden of Ireland - approx 1 hr drive from Dublin. St. Kevin founded this early Christian monastic site in the 6th century. Set in a glaciated valley with two lakes, the monastic remains include a superb round tower, stone churches and decorated crosses. St Kevin is thought to have come from the more fertile lands of County Kildare and like many other men of sanctity in early times, desired solitude for his life of prayer and contemplation. He therefore withdrew into the thinly peopled mountains and set up his hermitage at Glendalough. Shopping and relaxation in for the remainder of the day. Dinner is independent this evening.
Day 4 – Dublin – Galway
Breakfast at hotel. From Dublin travel through the midlands of the country to Clonmacnoise. known as one of the most famous monuments, you will see this 6th century monastic settlement founded by St. Ciaran which contains the remains of nine Churches and a Round Tower dating from the 10th to the 16th century. The monastic settlement has seen many violent and destructive periods in its history and was destroyed by fire at least 13 times. It was attacked approximately 40 times from the 8th - 12th. Century, 8 times by the Vikings; 6 times by the Anglo Normans and 26 times by the Irish. Each time of attack it was rebuilt by the Monks who resided there and today it is one of Ireland’s most famous visitor centres. Arrive to Galway City and check into hotel. Dinner independent. Overnight Galway City.
Day 5 – Connemara - Galway
Connemara has long been regarded as the real emerald of Ireland. This natural terrain and unspoilt environment offers visitors a wonderland of sights, experiences, adventure and activities. The people are warm, friendly and extend a hospitality which is the essence of Ireland. Visit Kylmore Abbey and tour their visitor centre and Gardens. Lunch can be had there before continuing to the town of Clifden for a visit to Dan O' Hara Homestead -Connemara Heritage & History Centre Here you can take a stroll through Connemara's colourful past at this award winning centre located 5 miles from Clifden. Return to Galway City for free time and dinner independent. Overnight Galway City
Day 6 – Galway - Kerry
Breakfast at hotel and check out. Today travel from Galway to Kerry. Travel via the Majestic Cliffs of Moher, the highest sea cliffs in Europe towering to 250 metres above the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Burren, encompassing 150 square kilometres and noted for the wide and unusual variety of local flora and fauna. Take the ferry from Killimer to Tarbert. Overnight in Killarney Co Kerry. Dinner Independent
Day 7 - Ring of Kerry
Breakfast at hotel. Today explore the ‘Ring of Kerry’, 170 km of some of Ireland's most spectacular scenery. The Ring of Kerry offers magnificent panoramas of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline of south-west Ireland contrasting with the rich and varied vegetation nurtured by the Gulf Stream. Return through the village of Sneem and stop at Molls Gap for spectacular views of Killarney. Arriving back to Killarney enjoy some free time to wander through the town or enjoy the hotel’s leisure facilities. Dinner independent. Overnight Killarney.
Day 8 - Kerry to Cork
Breakfast at hotel. Travel from Killarney to Cork. En route stop by Blarney Castle and Gardens and visit the adjacent Blarney Woolen Mills. Arrive to Kinsale and check into your hotel overlooking the River. Enjoy the town of Kinsale known as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland with plenty of pubs/restaurants. Dinner independent.
Day 9 – Cork to Kilkenny
Breakfast at hotel and check out. Drive from Cork to Kilkenny known as the Medieval City, with a stop en route to Cobh Heritage Centre where you can learn about mass immigration from Ireland during the Famine times. Stop at Waterford Crystal where you and see how this magnificent crystal is made. Arrive to Kilkenny and check into your hotel to your hotel for check in and relaxation. Dinner independent in the evening.
Day 10 – Kilkenny to Dublin
Breakfast at hotel and check out. This morning, visit Kilkenny Castle for a guided tour before continuing to Dublin. Kilkenny Castle overlooks the River Nore and dominates the 'High Town' of Kilkenny City. Over the eight centuries of its existence, many additions and alterations have been made to the fabric of the building, making Kilkenny Castle today a complex structure of various architectural styles.
Continue to Dublin and travelling through Kildare stop and visit the National Stud and Japanese Gardens where you can learn about the valuable Irish horesbreeding industry and enjoy a walk around the 100 year old Japanese Gardens. Arrive to Dublin for check in to your hotel. Tonight enjoy your last evening of entertainment and Meal at the Irish House party.(included).
Day 11
Breakfast at hotel.
Transfer to Dublin Airport for return journey to USA
