 Surrounded by the famous lakes of Killarney and the Magillycuddy Reeks mountains in the distance, Killarney Golf and Fishing Club has some of the most picturesque golf courses in Ireland. Firm fairways and true greens are the hallmark of these courses. The courses are set with lots of old trees and plenty of water hazards to keep you on your toes. When the wind blows down the mountains the funnelling effect of the trees raises the challenge of the course.
All three courses are flat and open. The flagship of the three courses, Killeen is truly one of the greatest courses in the country. It will certainly challenge the longest of hitters, and with water on almost every hole accuracy is essential.
Mahony's Point is the shortest of the three courses, but with a combination of undulated greens, well positioned bunkers and water hazards, wayward shots will often find big trouble.
The latest addition to the Club, Lackabane is still in its infancy but is already proving to be quite a challenge. The course is very different to Killeen and Mahony's Point, but has just as much to offer. Lackabane, opened in 1999 and already hosted the 2002 Ladies Irish Open.
