Leitrim Village, winner of a Tidy Town competition, has four pubs and restaurants. The 9 fully furnished holiday houses are adjacent to the River Shannon and have their own private marina. Carrick-on-Shannon is a 10 minutes drive and Dublin is about 2 hours.
Each house sleeps up to six people in two twin and one double bedroom (ensuite). There is a second bathroom and a large kitchen/dining and living area. There is also an open fireplace in the sittingroom. The kitchen is fitted with a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine/tumble dryer and each house is set in its own garden.
Included in the price of the holiday home is a 23ft day cruiser for your exclusive use to go fishing or touring on the entire Shannon Navigation system. Powered by a diesel inboard engine, the boats are supplied with life-jackets and charts. All boats have a cabin and a small galley with cooker.
Leitrim is situated in the heartland of Ireland's inland fishing. The Boyle River, Lough Allen, Lough Key, Cootehall, Garadice Lake and Keshcarrigan are within easy reach of Leitrim Quay. Pike over 15kg, roach, bream, tench are but some of the local varieties. The Drumlin counties of Cavan, Fermanagh and Leitrim have a limestone run-off with little incidence of pollution. The town of Carrick-on-Shannon has an extensive range of facilities including a leisure centre, golf course, restaurants, hotels and a mainline railway station.
"Sorry this is so late but I just wanted to say Thank you so much for planning such a wonderful trip! We enjoyed every aspect of it. I just wanted to let you know that the tax on the Bed & Breakfast's was a Dublin tax." -- Audrey
