Why did you join myguideIreland?
I moved to Ireland in 1989 and I always wanted to work again in the travel business.
What is your favourite part of Ireland?
I love actually West Cork the best. There is lots to see and visit - never boring.
What is your favourite visitor attraction?
Mizen Head is my favourite spot in West Cork and I just love Ballintubber Abbey in County Mayo and Monasterboice in County Louth .
What is your favourite Irish food and restaurant in Ireland?
Any kind of fish and I am very fond of the Blairs Cove Restaurant in
Durrus, Co Cork .
Which is your favourite pub in Ireland?
Baby Hannahs
Where do like to shop?
City of Cork and surrounding towns - has improved a lot in the last couple of years.
Favourite getaway in Ireland?
For a "castle-feeling" I would stay at the Glin Castle . Among many more I enjoyed very much Sheedy´s, Co. Clare and the Carrig House, Co. Kerry .
Given your experience what advice would you give to people coming to Ireland?
Try and limit your travel distances to 2 hours per day. With the amount of photo stops and visitor attractions we have to offer in Ireland, it will
still take you five or six hours to get to your next hotel or B&B. For a
more relaxed tour I always suggest my guests to stay for two nights at most of the accommodation.
