Narin & Portnoo Golf Club is situated in the seaside resort of Portnoo in south west Donegal . It is considered to be one of the finest natural links courses in Ireland , it is certainly one of the most scenic. The club is set right on the seafront with some serious sand dunes and the odd cow to contend with.
At 5355 metres, the 18-hole course may not be considered as a particularly long test of golf but when the wind blows it is certainly a good challenge for golfers of all handicaps. With six par 3's, one needs to be striking the irons well, play the par 3's well and you are well on your way to a good score. Narin and Portnoo is yet another delightful links in the Donegal chain. One must wait till the 6th for the first view of the sea, but the panorama from the sandhill that houses the 9th and 12th tees say's it all about Donegal. It is simply breathtaking! Across the bay are Aranmore Island and Croghy Head. The sense of having found a little corner of heaven is maintained on the 10th tee, which juts into the Gweebarra Estuary. And so it goes on, nothing too frightening, simply good old-fashioned take it as you find it kind of golf, so typical of all these lovely courses in Donegal.

Comments
"It is actually the most beautiful links course I have ever played, the scenery is absolutely out of this world. We have played all the great courses in the North (Donegal, Ballyliffin, Enniscrone, Bundoran) But none can of these courses are so enjoyable to play as Narin Portnoo." (Guest Review)

Testimonials
"I just wanted to let you know our Ireland trip was fabulous!! Thank you so much! Your recommendation to Adare Manor was a top tip! I went to Ashford Castle as well, it was very very nice to, but my preference is still Adare Manor. I just wish that I had booked 2 nights there instead of just one. The B&Bs were TOP too! Especially the one in Kilkieren up in Galway. Barbara was lovely and couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable. The Hillside House is definately one you can recommend to anyone!" -- Silke
