Day 1: Overnight transatlantic Flight to Ireland from USA
Day 2: Arrive Ireland
Arrive to Dublin Airport and following immigration and collection of luggage, meet myguideireland Representative. Transfer to your hotel between. Your hotel ia located in the heart of Dublin city and close to all City centre attractions
Early afternoon, drive through Wicklow, known as the Garden of Ireland to visit Glendalough, a 6th century monastic site founded by St. Kevin. Learn about life in early Christian Ireland and walk through the many church ruins and a round tower. In the evening relax over dinner at hotel with your fellow travelers.
Day 3: Dublin Castle & Brazen Head Evening
This morning tour the city center to see the famous Georgian Dublin with their colorful doors. Continue to St. Stephen's Green crossing the River Liffey and view the Famine Memorial along O'Connell Street. Visit Dublin Castle's State Apartments where you will learn about events from Irish history as you walk through the beautiful Georgian rooms. The afternoon is at leisure to relax or stay in the city center for an independent open-top bus tour with a visit to Guinness or Jameson. This evening's entertainment is the Brazen Head in Dublin (oldest pub in Dublin) for a dinner and a lively show of traditional Irish songs.
Day 4: St. Patrick Centre & Belfast
Depart Dublin and drive past the Mourne Mountains to visit Down Cathedral and view the burial place of St. Patrick, Ireland's patron saint. Visit the nearby St. Patrick Centre and learn more about the life of St Patrick. Continue to Belfast and check in to your hotel in the center of this bustling city. Enjoy some free time to look around on your own. Dinner at hotel in the evening.
Day 5: Belfast, Giant's Causeway & Derry
Today, take a tour of the highlights of Belfast with a local guide, including Victorian buildings, the Harland and Wolff Shipyards, where the Titanic was built Drive north along the “Nine Glens of Antrim,” a scenic route with lovely views of mountains, valleys and coastline. Stop at the Giant's Causeway comprising of hexagonal columns formed by volcanic activity over 60 million years ago. These enormous rocks portray legends about the mythical giant, Finn McCool. Continue to Derry and a local tour guide will take the group on a short walk around this ancient medieval city. Dinner at hotel in the evening.
Day 6: Belleek China and Ulster American Folk Park
Today, visit the Ulster American Folk Park. See many cottages including the boyhood home of Thomas Mellon, who emigrated to Pittsburgh in 1818 and founded the Mellon Bank. Continue to Fermanagh and take a guided tour around the Belleek Pottery Factory to see craftspeople making this famous fine china. Travel onwards to Mayo and the town of Westport where your hotel is located. Dinner in the evening.
Day 7: Achill Island Excursion & Westport
After a late breakfast travel around Clew Bay, to Achill Island which connects to the mainland by bridge. Follow the Atlantic Drive to view spectacular views of steeply-sloped mountains plunging into the shimmering Atlantic Ocean. Close by Slievemore you can view the Deserted Village, with remains of nearly 100 stone cottages abandoned around the time of the 1840's Famine. Return to Westport in time to enjoy the town with pubs, craft shops and restaurants.
Dinner in the evening.
Day 8: Cliffs Of Moher & Bunratty Medieval Banquet
Travel to Galway City for a walking tour and free time before driving through the limestone hills of the Burren. View the Poulnabrone Dolmen, a pre-Christian burial site marked. Continue to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, a rocky wall that rises nearly 700 feet above the foaming Atlantic Ocean. At Bunratty check in to your hotel, right beside Bunratty Castle, the Bunratty Folk Park and Durty Nelly's Pub. In the evening head enjoy a festive evening at the 15th century Bunratty Castle for a medieval-style dinner where the lords and ladies serenade you.
Day 9: Return Home from Shannon
Transfer to Shannon Airport where you depart for USA. After check-in, you'll have time to shop at the duty-free stores before boarding your flight for the journey home.
