The small port of Union Hall near Skibbereen has an active fishing fleet and also offers anchorage to pleasure boats. With a causeway, leading into the village there is a natural lagoon, which offers calm waters for skiing, diving, canoeing and many other water based activities. Depending on the season, angling and deep-sea fishing are available along with boat hire which can be used to visit some of the off shore islands in the area.
