Generally, links courses are in remote, even desolate areas (therein the charm) but this equally charming and strikingly beautiful one is only 5 km from the center of Dublin , on Bull Island, a bird sanctuary. It's the second-oldest club in Ireland and is designed in the old tradition of seaside links very similar to St. Andrews: The front nine goes out in a line (wind helping) and the back nine comes back in a line (wind against) So, don't expect to make a comeback on the way home if you struggled going out. As with all great clubs, Royal Dublin has the amenities to match its course.
