Sheedy's Country House

Sheedy's Country House offers an idyllic escape with beautiful gardens and award-winning cuisine in an unrivalled location on the edge of the Burren. This 17th Century house has true character and an intimate atmosphere. Each
of the beautiful bedrooms and suites have been individually designed with comfort in mind. Thoughtful touches like music centres add to their charm.

As well as being the perfect base for golfers with Lahinch and Doonbeg only a short drive from the hotel, Sheedy's location in Lisdoonvarna makes it ideal for exploring the Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, Aillwee Cave and the popular village of Doolin, famous for great traditional music.

John Sheedy's cooking, using local fresh ingredients, has been awarded two RAC Dining Awards. Highly recommended by Fodors, the Good Food Guide and the New York Times. One hour from Shannon Airport.

Wonderful experience here. Staff were exceptional and made you feel as if you were in your own home. Rooms are large. beds are comfy, and near Cliffs of Moher. Dining experience is exceptional. Definitely plan to eat dinner here.

We stayed three nights at Sheedy's Country house. Martina was friendly and most anxious to make us comfortable. We enjoyed her husband's wonderful culinary skills two of the three nights we were in Lisdoonvarna. Ambrosia!

Dinner was good but very costly. The rooms were excellent but the shower was difficult to operate. Hospitality was excellent!

not sure why we were recommended to stay there, as there was nothing special about staying there.

Loretta Calovich on Tue Jun 9 2009

This was the best rooms we had had yet - really spacious and excellently appointed. The food was top quality, well served with every attention and thought being given. Mrs Sheedy always had time for a talk despite her busy life. We enjoyed the fireside and sitting area in which to relax before and after meals. Would certainly recommend this to anyone.

We loved Sheedy's. John & Martina are excellent innkeepers. John's a tremendous cook and Martina keeps the inn running smoothly. Great place to relax and enjoy Ireland.

Testimonials

"I just wanted to let you know our Ireland trip was fabulous!!
Thank you so much!
Your recommendation to Adare Manor was a top tip!
I went to Ashford Castle as well, it was very very nice to, but my preference is still Adare Manor.
I just wish that I had booked 2 nights there instead of just one.
The B&Bs were TOP too! Especially the one in Kilkieren up in Galway. Barbara was lovely and couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable.
The Hillside House is definately one you can recommend to anyone!" -- Silke
