this was a lovely place. There was a Festival going on so it was very busy, but we managed to sample the local culture and enjoyed the area.

The front desk clerk was not friendly. The rooms were nothing in comparison to all the others. Our least favorite and would not return to that hotel and would recommend taking it off your list for this tour. If it is the best Kinsale has then sif ghtsee only and go to another city better able to accommodate.

Had the best internet connection.

Kinsale was a quaint fishing village and we enjoyed being able to walk around the area. The hotel was very nice and the Pub food was excellent.

Terrible room, burnt lampshade, moldy bathroom, dim lights, old furniture, view of propane tanks. The gave me an invoice for my room when I left even though it had been prepaid.

This place was centrally located, easy walk to shops along marina. Fantastic food in the Wharf Tavern. Best cheesecake anywhere! Will definitely be returning to Kinsale and the Trident Hotel.

Excellent location (right on the water). This is a VERY eco-friendly hotel. We could not control our own thermostat (the front desk had control) so we had to call to have the temperature lowered. The resturant was delicious. The hallways were pretty dark at night as they were trying to conserve electricity.

This was our least favorite hotel. The location was great, but compared to the rest of the hotels we were staying in, it seemed like a cheap motel. The room was small and unremarkable, with thin walls so we could hear the baby crying next door.

Not quite as nice as our previous places, plus we ended up with smoking rooms. Otherwise ok.

We loved the town of Kinsale. We were fortunate to be there during the weekend when the Clipper Yacht Race was docked there, so the town was booming with festivities. We loved the location of the Trident right on the water. And we appreciated that they had a free parking lot for guests. However, the hotel is getting a bit dated and run down. The accommodations were not nearly as luxurious as the other places we stayed on our trip. Just a plain hotel.

Beautiful location.

Out of the three places we stayed this was by far the most inferior. No air conditioning in the room plus the room was very outdated. Restaurants were not very accomodating to an earlier dining time. Breakfast was average.

Exceptional as noted above. Would highly recommend.

Loved Kinsale, so maybe a little bias about Trident. But upgraded to a top floor suite, which wasn't much larger than a standard american hotel. But nice and clean and quiet. People again were always ncie and accommodating. Kinsale was our favorite city during the stay.

Again I can't say enough about how friendly and accomodating each hotel was on our trip. This hotel had an exceptional view, while the rooms were comfortable and accomodating. Easy access to walk to any destination in town.

THis was one of our least favorite hotels. This was probably due to it was late at night, raining when we got there and hard to find. We also thought it was going to have a beach so we could go for a morning walk, but it was just boats. Did not spend much time in this city, not much going on and the hotel was not great. The restaurant food was great.

This was a beautiful location, right on the harbor. The room was nothing special or memorable. We were able to walk along the harbor and it was close to many restaurants.

The reception staff and dining staff here were not congenial at all. Beautiful location though.

We loved the Trident and it's location to town. The view was spectacular. Best brown bread and jam we had!

We liked this place as it was easy to walk to all the shops and we took a walking tour of Kinsale. The Halloween Parade was super with families and little children. A nice time at Kinsale and Trident

Best food by far in their resturant. Excellent location and all ameneties were situated nicely towards the water. Lovely little town within walking distance. Best place we stayed out, too bad we only were there for one night but we did a lot in the short time we were there.

We were given a room that smelled of tobacco. It was not on par with rooms in the previous hotels. However, we were given a smoke free room and it was a much nicer room

Staff was not very friendly (very surprising since almost everywhere else in Ireland, the people were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is run down.

Very unique hotel with a spectacular view. We loved the quaint town of Kinsale.

This place was the best, great area by the water, friendly people a lot of fun

People next door loud, so they moved us to a smoking room (all they had left). This room was bigger and had a better view. Had a fan running in bathroom you couldn't turn off. Waiter at outdoor restaurant made us feel we were bothering him. No Irish feel - felt like in US.

Everything was great; although, we were put in the smoking section.

A very nice hotel. We enjoyed it. The entire trip was nearly everything we had hoped for. On our next trip to Ireland we would prefer to land and take-off from Shannon. The countryside and smaller cities are what we were looking for.

Really did not like this hotel No ambience to speak of although the view was nice it was at the far end of town.

This was a great hotel. The hotel was in walking distance to everything in town.

The room was small, it smelled of cigarette smoke, and the bed uncomfortable. We were disappointed in Kinsale as well, Cobh, Cork or Waterford would have been a better location.

The people running this place were truly wonderful! Very, very friendly and personable. Kinsale is a great place to stay. We really wished that we could've stayed there longer as it is a lovely town.

Another great location, on the harbour. We just arrived after 7PM and did not have much time to explore.

I thought the rooms in this hotel were marginal at best and the bathrooms were in some serious need of updating.

This was the only place i would not return to. Front desk were cold and unfreindly and the rooms were a bit very loud. House keeping did not get to the rooms till late in the day.

The junior suites here were fabulous! Very large rooms and bathrooms.

Overall it was ok, there was no bell man or anyplace to park which was not any fun. The food was so so but nothing to talk of. The sister hotel made this hotel nice because we were able to use the fitness facilites there, but overall we didn't like having to go somewhere else to work out.

This was terrific. As we were there for 5 nights, the folks at the front desk might have enquired about how we were doing and volunteered more information about day trips etc (it was more like a business travel experience than resort). But we'd certainly recommend the Trident to friends. Two quick notes: the charge for laundry was double the amount indicated in material in the room; guest parking is not guaranteed - which came as a surprise.

Our least favourite, but location was good. We were getting weary after 2 weeks of travel..and poor weather.

LOVELY HOTEL AND A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY

Staff were efficient and polite but more constained than those in the other hotels.

friendly helpful and welcoming staff. Room was pristine. My husband phoned ahead in the morning to book dinner and to tell them it was our honeymoon and ask if they would be able to upgrade us. they put us in the Master suite! needless to say we had a lovely time. Evening meal in restaurant not as good as we expected from website reviews but breakfast was much improved.

A very nice hotel located in the heart of the town. We enjoyed the brief time we were there and once again, might have planned differntly, to spend more time there, had we known. Met all my personal criteria, easy to find, close to the town and on the water.

We canceled one of our two nights here WE did call myguide to Ireland and were given a better room -- the first room was on the back side of the hotel -- directly in the line of motorist coming into town -- when we checked in the staff was very unhospitable -- we felt very uncomfortable

Lovely hotel and unbeatable location. Dinner was disappointing as they took an excessive amount of time to initially serve me for drinks and the first course was unimaginative and the ingredients actually tired and obviously out of a packet. Considering the standard of the restaurant and the prices charged, this was unacceptable.

Of all our accommodations we liked the Trident least. Once again its location on the fringe of town made its location less appealing. It was the least attractive of the accommodations. We did not eat at the Trident choosing instead to walk to a local pub. The facilities looked industrial. They certainly lacked the character of the other four hotels. The room reeked of smoke and when we asked to move were told no other rooms were available.

This was a chain type and a little impersonal. Breakfast disappointing.

Hotel was adequate but not exceptional.

The room was OK but a bit worn. The highlight was the view from the room and so that made it better. The front desk accommodated us with a room with a view which was nice. They also recommended spots for evening entertainment and the place we went to was fun. We were able to walk to everything, yet it seemed a bit off the beaten path.

The best food and scenery.
