Trident Hotel Kinsale

Trident Hotel Kinsale Situated on the waterfront of Kinsale harbor, the Trident Hotel is one of the most spectacularly located hotels in West Cork.

The 4 Star Trident Hotel has been recently redeveloped and offers a very high standard of accommodation in the heart of Kinsale, plus breathtaking seaviews from most rooms. A wide selection of guest rooms are on offer... Standard and Executive rooms are tastefully decorated and offer all of the facilities you would expect in a 4 star hotel. Or why not treat yourself to a Junior Suite, very spacious and with spectacular views of the harbour. For the ultimate in luxury, the Master suites offer their own private balcony and seperate sitting area. The hotel provides an excellent base for exploring the interesting cobbled streets of Kinsale on foot, as it is 7 minutes walk from the heart of the beautiful harbor town. You will have fun discovering why Kinsale is known as the gourmet capital of Ireland with a visit to some of the town's renowned restaurants!

The hotel's Pier One Restaurant offers award-winning cuisine based on the finest local produce and fresh seafood caught locally that day, all complimented by a carefully selected wine list. Or indeed, why not select your own wine from the Wine Cave? The breakfast at the Trident is renowned in the area... chose from an extensive cold buffet of local cheeses, hams and smoked salmon as well as fresh fruits, youghurts and pastries. Included in your breakfast is also an enticing range of hot options cooked to order from the kitchen... Full Irish Breakfast, Hot Oatmeal or even kippers! While the Wharf Tavern embodies all the flavors and charms of a traditional Irish pub in a wonderfully unique and cosy bar. The added bonus of sea views and a sheltered terrace ideal for enjoying 'al-Fresco' drinks & dining all year round.

Live music is a regular feature at the Wharf Tavern, especially during the summer months, with a mix of Traditional ~Irish music, Cabaret and Jazz. The annual Kinsale Fringe Jazz Festival , which is run in tandem with the famous Guinness Cork Jazz Festival during the last weekend in October, sees the Wharf Tavern packed to the rafters. As well as the historic town of Kinsale, the Trident Hotel is perfectly placed for exploring the spectacular West Cork coastline and is just 30km from Cork City and 20km from Cork International Airport.

Guest Reviews of Trident Hotel Kinsale

We loved the Trident and it's location to town. The view was spectacular. Best brown bread and jam we had!

Katie Mcnaught on Tue Nov 17 2009

We liked this place as it was easy to walk to all the shops and we took a walking tour of Kinsale. The Halloween Parade was super with families and little children. A nice time at Kinsale and Trident

Linda Starr on Fri Nov 13 2009

Best food by far in their resturant. Excellent location and all ameneties were situated nicely towards the water. Lovely little town within walking distance. Best place we stayed out, too bad we only were there for one night but we did a lot in the short time we were there.

Scott Hamlin on Wed Nov 11 2009

We were given a room that smelled of tobacco. It was not on par with rooms in the previous hotels. However, we were given a smoke free room and it was a much nicer room

Nancy Kemmerer on Wed Oct 28 2009

Staff was not very friendly (very surprising since almost everywhere else in Ireland, the people were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is run down.

Janet L Webster on Tue Oct 27 2009

Very unique hotel with a spectacular view. We loved the quaint town of Kinsale.

Mary Brannon on Mon Oct 19 2009

This place was the best, great area by the water, friendly people a lot of fun

Laurel Meinhardt on Mon Oct 19 2009

People next door loud, so they moved us to a smoking room (all they had left). This room was bigger and had a better view. Had a fan running in bathroom you couldn't turn off. Waiter at outdoor restaurant made us feel we were bothering him. No Irish feel - felt like in US.

Christina Kelly on Tue Oct 6 2009

Everything was great; although, we were put in the smoking section.

Colleen Heenan on Wed Sep 30 2009

Wonderful location. Staff was excellent. Would definitely recommend to family and friends

Joann Rooney on Tue Sep 22 2009

A very nice hotel. We enjoyed it. The entire trip was nearly everything we had hoped for. On our next trip to Ireland we would prefer to land and take-off from Shannon. The countryside and smaller cities are what we were looking for.

Tom Schuetz on Mon Sep 21 2009

Really did not like this hotel No ambience to speak of although the view was nice it was at the far end of town.

Ruth Fraser on Thu Sep 17 2009

This was a great hotel. The hotel was in walking distance to everything in town.

Carrie Sumrall on Tue Sep 15 2009

The room was small, it smelled of cigarette smoke, and the bed uncomfortable. We were disappointed in Kinsale as well, Cobh, Cork or Waterford would have been a better location.

Deborah Grayson on Tue Sep 1 2009

The people running this place were truly wonderful! Very, very friendly and personable. Kinsale is a great place to stay. We really wished that we could've stayed there longer as it is a lovely town.

Kirche Zeile on Mon Aug 17 2009

Another great location, on the harbour. We just arrived after 7PM and did not have much time to explore.

Benny Pittman on Sat Aug 8 2009

I thought the rooms in this hotel were marginal at best and the bathrooms were in some serious need of updating.

Jane Washburn on Sat Jul 25 2009

very good location excenant room.

John Knott on Mon Jun 29 2009

Not worth a second visit

David Nussbaum on Tue Jun 9 2009

Excellent highly recommended we will return to Kinsale. Unfortunately due to road works hotel difficult to get to but we were able to find way

Garry Mcmanus on Mon Dec 1 2008

This was the only place i would not return to. Front desk were cold and unfreindly and the rooms were a bit very loud. House keeping did not get to the rooms till late in the day.

Victoria Blocker on Fri Nov 28 2008

The junior suites here were fabulous! Very large rooms and bathrooms.

Julie Garland on Mon Nov 3 2008

Overall it was ok, there was no bell man or anyplace to park which was not any fun. The food was so so but nothing to talk of. The sister hotel made this hotel nice because we were able to use the fitness facilites there, but overall we didn't like having to go somewhere else to work out.

Nicole Carr on Mon Oct 13 2008

This was terrific. As we were there for 5 nights, the folks at the front desk might have enquired about how we were doing and volunteered more information about day trips etc (it was more like a business travel experience than resort). But we'd certainly recommend the Trident to friends. Two quick notes: the charge for laundry was double the amount indicated in material in the room; guest parking is not guaranteed - which came as a surprise.

Judy Mcgovern on Tue Sep 23 2008

Our least favourite, but location was good. We were getting weary after 2 weeks of travel..and poor weather.

Patricia Lang on Mon Sep 22 2008

Excellent overall. What a brilliant view from the bedroom.

Brian Livesey on Tue Sep 16 2008

Room a bit small and bathroom needed some upgrading but great view over the harbour and within walking distance of the town center.

Tim Johnston on Sat Jul 26 2008

Great views across the bay. Nice walk into town.

Tom Mccabe on Tue Jul 15 2008

LOVELY HOTEL AND A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY

Colin Jarrett on Tue Jul 8 2008

Staff were efficient and polite but more constained than those in the other hotels.

Mr Trevor Kimsey on Thu Jun 26 2008

See above gradings - we really enjoyed this hotel and would be happy to return some day.

Don Hartley on Thu Jun 19 2008

friendly helpful and welcoming staff. Room was pristine. My husband phoned ahead in the morning to book dinner and to tell them it was our honeymoon and ask if they would be able to upgrade us. they put us in the Master suite! needless to say we had a lovely time. Evening meal in restaurant not as good as we expected from website reviews but breakfast was much improved.

Ms Nikki Randall on Sun May 25 2008

A very nice hotel located in the heart of the town. We enjoyed the brief time we were there and once again, might have planned differntly, to spend more time there, had we known. Met all my personal criteria, easy to find, close to the town and on the water.

Don Ferguson on Tue Apr 22 2008

We canceled one of our two nights here WE did call myguide to Ireland and were given a better room -- the first room was on the back side of the hotel -- directly in the line of motorist coming into town -- when we checked in the staff was very unhospitable -- we felt very uncomfortable

Nancy Miller on Fri Apr 18 2008

Lovely hotel and unbeatable location. Dinner was disappointing as they took an excessive amount of time to initially serve me for drinks and the first course was unimaginative and the ingredients actually tired and obviously out of a packet. Considering the standard of the restaurant and the prices charged, this was unacceptable.

Ms Carla Fairweather on Tue Apr 1 2008

Of all our accommodations we liked the Trident least. Once again its location on the fringe of town made its location less appealing. It was the least attractive of the accommodations. We did not eat at the Trident choosing instead to walk to a local pub. The facilities looked industrial. They certainly lacked the character of the other four hotels. The room reeked of smoke and when we asked to move were told no other rooms were available.

Tracie Landry on Wed Mar 26 2008

This was a chain type and a little impersonal. Breakfast disappointing.

Robert Sharpe on Tue Mar 18 2008

Hotel was adequate but not exceptional.

Margaret Schumann on Wed Dec 12 2007

The room was OK but a bit worn. The highlight was the view from the room and so that made it better. The front desk accommodated us with a room with a view which was nice. They also recommended spots for evening entertainment and the place we went to was fun. We were able to walk to everything, yet it seemed a bit off the beaten path.

Kathleen Mcgann on Tue Oct 23 2007

The best food and scenery.

Melba Holt on Tue Oct 2 2007

Beautiful place.
