Portmarnock
is an internationally acclaimed hotel, situated along the coast 8 miles
from Dublin with excellent golfing on both the hotel's own links
course and the renowned Portmarnock Golf Course.
Originally
owned by the Jameson family, famous for their Irish whiskey, Portmarnock
has been beautifully converted to a fabulous hotel hosting its own excellent
18-hole Golf Links course, designed by Bernhard Langer, and is adjacent
to the world famous old golf course at Portmarnock.
But Portmarnock
has much more to offer than just golf with a hotel that playfully claims
to overlook nothing but the sea! The setting is simply sublime; a stones'
throw from a fine stretch of sandy beach up the 8 miles up the coast from
Dublin, close to the fashionable suburb of Malahide. The hotel has very
much a country club atmosphere, relaxed but refined, with bright and airy
public areas and friendly staff on hand for offer assistance.
Each of the
individually designed bedrooms boast huge bed space and have been cleverly
situated with sweeping views of either the sea or the golf course, through
their large bay windows or balconies. Each room is elegantly appointed
with a range of classy four-poster rooms and deluxe suites to choose from
and equipped with every modern convenience. Portmarnock prides itself
on its high level of standards and service and this is no more evident
that in the upkeep of the bedrooms.
The hotel's
range of excellent facilities include the renowned Osborne restaurant
serving a wonderful choice of international cuisine with style and charm,

Golf
Portmarnock golf links course was designed by Bernhard Langer, and the
club professional is European Ryder Cup player, Darren Clarke. Inspirational
use of natural dunes land features, and the creative use of elevated tees
and greens, acutely angled dog-legs, and ninety-eight strategically placed
bunkers even test the most accomplished of players. Each individual hole
presents its own unique and exacting challenge, which, as the round progresses,
provokes and increasing sense of anticipation to discover the delights
of the next.
